Learning works better when technology aligns with what children need and gives parents confidence. BrainBite user research showed how parents experience the prototype of the AI learning environment. Sprint investigated the platform’s usability, clarity, appearance, and AI functionalities. This provided BrainBite with targeted insights to further improve the user experience.
BrainBite is a Dutch tech startup that helps children learn using artificial intelligence. With interactive AI avatars, playful assignments, and personalised learning paths, BrainBite aims to make learning more fun, accessible, and effective.
BrainBite’s mission is clear: to create a world in which every child can learn in the best possible way. Personalised, inclusive, and tailored to everyone’s talents.
BrainBite was in an important phase. The concept was established and the prototype had been built. Subsequently, one question remained: how user-friendly is the platform and does it align with what parents find important for their child?
AI offers new possibilities for learning. At the same time, a learning platform for children requires trust. Parents want to understand how it works, what their child is doing with it, and whether the environment feels logical and suitable.
Therefore, a good idea alone was not enough. BrainBite needed to see how parents actually experience the prototype. Do they understand the learning environment? Do they find the information clear? Does the parent dashboard work intuitively? And do the AI mentors appeal within the learning experience?
At Sprint, we enjoy supporting initiatives with social impact. Because BrainBite works on technology that aims to make learning more personal, inclusive, and accessible, Sprint conducted this research free of charge.
Sprint conducted BrainBite user research among parents of children between 6 and 13 years old. The parents tested a prototype of the BrainBite learning environment and provided feedback on usability, clarity, design, and AI functionalities.
The approach consisted of a usability test, followed by qualitative depth. This provided insight into what parents did during use and how they experienced the platform.
In doing so, we looked at several parts of the experience. For example, how parents understood the concept, how logically the platform flowed, how clear the information was, how intuitively the parent dashboard worked, and to what extent the AI mentors aligned with the learning environment.
This gave BrainBite a concrete picture of what was already strong and which details could be further refined.
“Thanks to the insights we gained from the research, we were able to make immediate, impactful adjustments to our product, taking a major step forward in improving the user experience. It’s great that Sprint did this for us free of charge, because it was incredibly valuable!”
The research provided BrainBite with clear insights. The platform was experienced as understandable and easy to use. In addition, parents expected their child would enjoy working with it.
The feedback gave BrainBite direction for further product development. This allowed the team to better determine which parts of the user experience were already working well and where improvement was possible.
BrainBite was able to make concrete adjustments to the product and the user experience.
The research showed what parents understood, where they got stuck, and what could be more logical in the learning experience.
The insights gave BrainBite concrete points for improvement and confirmation for the further development of the platform.
User research for a prototype shows how users experience an initial version of a product. You discover where the design is clear, where questions arise, and which parts need improvement.
During a usability test, participants perform tasks in a prototype or product. In doing so, you observe how logical, clear, and pleasant the experience is.
Startups need to make choices quickly. User research helps to base those choices on user experience instead of assumptions.
Qualitative depth shows why users think or do something. This helps you better understand which adjustments can make the most difference.
