How do you make your product Sam-wise?

Once upon a time... ...there was a 14-year-old girl from Utrecht. She went to school, didn't pay much attention to math and filled her diary with pictures of cute boys that were carefully cut out of the 'Hitkrant'. Actually not very different from other 14-year-old girls at that time.

After school, she and a friend bought blue hair mascara and copper-colored lipstick. They took selfies (yes, even then) in one of those booths at Hoog-Catharijne in Utrecht. Completely with faulty backdrop of Miami beach.

The experiential world

The story above gives a glimpse into the real life of an adolescent. I'll call the person in the story above "Sam" for the sake of convenience (because, ff seriously, consumer is really that lame). Anyone who wants to understand Sam better must have a window into Sam's experience. And who gives Sam the stage to share her story, learns that Sam is much more than a school going girl of 14. That she hunts for bargains (because, pocket money) and does not blindly adopt what 'brands' present her with (give her some credit).

Let your contemporary Sam tell her story!

These kinds of stories give you insights, but they also give context to insights. You not only learn that Sam is a fourteen-year-old girl, but also whether there is room in Sam's world for your idea or your product. Pretty crucial if you want to introduce a new product, for example. Let's also not forget that Sam deserves to be able to tell her story. And are you writing your own story for Sam? She helps you, with her feedback and inspiration, to give it direction and make it even more valuable.

If you want to give your own contemporary Sam a stage in an accessible way, you can do so quite easily within our online research community. You can ask explicitly about the world of your Sam, or leave it to one of our awesome moderators to build a relationship with your Sam.
