Supplier of Blauw hit by data breach
Unfortunately, as a market research firm, we have been confronted with a data breach. The data breach took place at Nebu B.V. a supplier of software we use for research. In doing so, third parties may have had access to data we collect and process for clients and data for our own satisfaction surveys. This includes data needed to invite people to participate in the survey (names, email addresses and phone numbers) and the answers given in the survey.
We have filed a report with the Personal Data Authority with respect to our own data. We have also informed our clients of the incident.
On March 24, we received written notification of unauthorized access to the software vendor's network. On March 27, this supplier confirmed that data had actually been misappropriated. We deeply regret this and have informed our clients about this. We do not yet know what exactly was misappropriated. We are currently investigating to find out what data was viewed or misappropriated by unauthorized persons.
We will make every effort in the coming period to continue to keep our clients as informed as possible. We find it extremely annoying for both our clients and their customers who cooperated with the study that this situation has arisen.
